Job summary

Stagecoach Bedford Depot is seeking an experienced vehicle engineer to maintain and repair our diverse fleet of modern buses. This role covers both depot maintenance and on-road repair work, offering exposure beyond a single site.

You’ll be at the forefront of industry progress as we invest in electric vehicles and upgraded depot infrastructure, with a structured training programme to grow your skills and potentially gain new trade qualifications.

Qualifications

• Have some form of vehicle engineering background, this could be bus, truck, rail, farm or automotive – if it moves, it’s good experience.
• Be passionate about delivering high standards of engineering maintenance and repairs.
• Preferably hold an appropriate Level 3 engineering NVQ; training can be provided if you’re right for the role.
• Hold a UK Driver's Licence.

• Maintain and repair our varied fleet of modern vehicles.
• Work out on the road as well as at the depot, not confined to one location.
• Be at the forefront of advancing technology as we invest in electric vehicles and depot infrastructure.

Engineer Days Monday to Friday

We’ll need you to

• Have some form of vehicle engineering background, we’re not picky though this could be in bus, truck, rail, farm or automotive – if it moves, it’s good experience.
• Be passionate about what you do and want to deliver high standards of engineering maintenance and repairs.
• Preferably have an appropriate level 3 engineering NVQ, this isn’t essential though we can provide training where necessary if you’re right for the role.
• Hold a UK Drivers License
