Qualifications

Job Role: Engineer – Combustion

Location: HMP Littlehey

Salary: £39,000

Contract: Full time/Perm

We are seeking a dedicated Engineer – Combustion to join our team at HMP Littlehey, a Category C & Male prison. Join a team that works Monday-Sunday as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment. HMP Littlehey operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your work impacts prisoners, staff, visitors, families, and the wider community.

As an Engineer – Combustion, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe environment. Requirements:

  • Two years experience as a heating or combustion engineer or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
  • Knowledge of Gas Safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and related standards
  • Experience with commercial catering gas appliances (beneficial)
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
  • CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety
  • COCN1 - Core commercial gas safety
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
