Telent's Network Services division is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers the chance to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development through challenging projects.

The Cloud Engineer will build and enhance relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - What you’ll do:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Maintain awareness of customer incidents and report on nominated accounts.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins impacting customers.
  • Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Adhere to internal and external processes regarding task allocation, completion, and reporting.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create TA, POC, RFC, WI, and Statement of Works documentation.
  • Perform peer reviews of engineering documentation.
  • Assist or lead in pre-staging equipment for customer sites.
  • Attend customer meetings such as support reviews and incident reviews.
  • Ensure accurate timesheet submissions.
  • Link certifications or training to business objectives.
  • Complete and submit overtime and expenses accurately.
  • Follow GDPR policies and handle security incidents as per policies.

Cloud Engineer - Who you are:

The ideal candidate will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange. We will support your development in these areas. You should have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and experience working in a medium or large support environment (IT Managed Service). Experience with On-premise Cloud Services is also desirable.

  • VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
  • MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
  • Networking Concepts knowledge
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above, with clustering and availability groups
  • Azure MFA and Identity Services
  • Microsoft System Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and above
