Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a CAD Lead in the United Kingdom to take a lead on projects, plan design phases, maintain drafting standards, and drive efficient delivery across functions. You will produce accurate 3D models and 2D drawings, collaborate with the Engineering Lead, and stay up to date with CAD software developments.

Ideal candidates hold an HND or equivalent, are fluent with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, and understand Autodesk Vault.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead on projects or initiatives with thorough planning and scheduling.
• Create, develop, and maintain Parker drafting standards for all models/drawings.
• Develop Parker processes to enable efficient delivery.
• Collaborate with other functions to provide value and guidance.
• Produce accurate 3D models and 2D drawings in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the Engineering Lead to support project needs.
• Stay up to date with CAD software, systems and developments.

Your Responsibilities As a CAD Lead

• Take a lead on projects or initiatives; ensuring all projects/initiatives are well planned prior to start up thus ensuring the design phase of the project is completed to schedule and budget; planning will require as a minimum the production and maintenance of the following throughout the lifecycle of the project/initiative:-
  • of a drawing list;
  • a resource plan;
  • a bar chart showing when drawings and documents will be produced in accordance with the overarching project/initiative schedule..
• Create, develop and maintain a consistent set of Parker drafting standards and practices for producing all models/drawing deliverables in a consistent format and manner.
• Based on World’s Best Practice, produce a set of Parker processes to enable efficient delivery.
• Collaborating with other functions within Execution and in the wider organisation to provide value in terms of support, advice, guidance, optimisation of resources.
• Production of accurate 3D models and 2D drawings in a timely and efficient manner.
• Working closely with the Engineering Lead to support project needs
• Pro-active in keeping up to date with CAD software, systems and developments

Who We Are Looking For

• HND or equivalent professional experience
• Fluency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
• Good knowledge and understanding of Autodesk Vault document management system
• Knowledge of current drawing practices, including welding symbols, fabrication techniques, industry standards
• Willingness & ability to travel internationally, up to 20% working time

Ideally, you will also have

• Experience of sheet metal fabrication
• Experience and demonstrated success working in a cross-functional engineering environment.
• Awareness of international engineering standards, regulations and export control requirements.
