Job description

As an engineer in the customer experience platforms team, you will be responsible for the design and development of automation projects. This group is part of the overall COO team in Nationwide.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London office. What you’ll be doing

You will need to understand business requirements, oversee technical designs and ensure the appropriate technology and tools are used to automate business processes. You will be working closely with engineers, data analysts, business analysts, and test managers to track projects on a day-to-day basis. You will need to ensure you have the right resources within your team to deliver technical solutions at speed and high standards. Additionally, you will:

  • Use your technical knowledge and experience to create data model, analyse data and write code to support the automation CoE.
  • Ensure development is done in-line with business requirements and are delivered within timelines committed.
  • Use your relationship building skills to work collaboratively with other engineering and design teams in the organisation.
About you
  • Hands on experience in data analysis, Python, Databricks
  • Experience in cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), MS Power Platform or Pega Platform or UI Path or BluePrism
  • Experience in creating technical designs and ensuring guard rails are followed as expected
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Experience leading leading engineers
