Job Description

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for site-wide electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation work, problem solving, and continuous improvement to increase and maintain production efficiencies. Your skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering will be put to the test, making every day a stimulating challenge.

  • Perform repairs in the unit in line with the company’s standards.
  • Responsible for all maintenance checks.
  • Carry out tasks including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, and utilities of all assets across all operational areas and sites.
  • Liaise effectively with other departments to communicate and coordinate work.
  • Conduct day-to-day maintenance activities.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and adhere closely to repair schedules.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and support fault finding.
  • Proactively repair, maintain, and prevent breakdowns of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, drainage, and other utilities.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients, third-party contractors, and parts vendors.
  • Keep engineering tools, manuals, safety protocols, parts, and work tools organized and accessible.
  • Communicate with clients and customers regarding work schedules, fault repairs, and downtime to minimize wait times and maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in the food industry.
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience required.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications – minimum NVQ or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, data-driven, with the ability to influence departments and suggest, implement, and track solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills within the team and across departments.
  • Clear and engaging communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills to solve urgent problems quickly.
  • Strong numerical reasoning abilities.
  • Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
