Kier Group plc. is seeking a Highways Engineer to support the Basingstoke team in delivering concept through detailed highway and infrastructure designs. You’ll work with multiple disciplines, applying safety, reliability and environmental considerations to options and drawings.

Role involves site visits, liaison with clients and preparation of technical documents, with opportunities for professional development in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Formación

• Holder of a university degree (BSc, BEng, MSc or MEng) in Civil Engineering, Highways Engineering or Transportation.
• Chartered (CEng) or incorporated (IEng) status or working towards with ICE, CIHT or IHE.
• Experience with highways geometry, pavement design, drainage, signing and vehicle restraint systems.
• Full driving licence and CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake feasibility, preliminary and detailed design of highway schemes to DMRB and local standards using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines in Common Data Environments and learn on the job.
• Develop engineering options with focus on safety, reliability, capacity, maintainability and environment.
• Provide design support, prepare drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and client meetings to maintain relationships.

As a Highways Engineer, you'll be working within the highways design team, supporting them in the development and preparation of concept, preliminary and detailed design of a range of highway and infrastructure projects. We're seeking a talented Highways Engineer to enable our team in delivering innovative highway and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively on a diverse range of schemes, from concept through to detailed design, whilst developing your skills and contributing to meaningful projects that make a real difference to communities. Your day to day will include:

• Undertaking feasibility, preliminary and detailed design of highway maintenance and improvement schemes to DMRB and local authority standards using AutoCAD software
• Working collaboratively with other design disciplines in Common Data Environments and acquiring knowledge through on-the-job learning
• Developing engineering options for proposals with full consideration to safety, reliability, operational capacity, maintainability, and environmental issues
• Providing design support to the highways design team and preparing technical drawings, specifications and design calculations
• Undertaking site visits and surveys, maintaining good relations with clients and attending meetings as necessary

• A holder of a university degree (BSc, BEng, MSc, MEng) in Civil Engineering, Highways Engineering, or Transportation
• Chartered (CEng)/incorporated (IEng) professional or working towards becoming chartered or incorporated engineer with ICE, CIHT or IHE
• Experienced and knowledgeable about highways geometry, pavement design, signs & road markings, drainage, and vehicle restraint systems
• Holder of a full driving licence
• Holder of CSCS Card, SMSTS or equivalent
