Job summary

Gleeson Homes is seeking an Engineer to support the Regional Technical team and site delivery. You will provide technical guidance for feasibility, manage external consultants, and drive site infrastructure coordination in line with NHBC and Building Regulations.

The role requires knowledge of highway design standards, sewers for adoption, and AutoCAD, with strong communication and organisational skills. Doncaster-based position offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification or strong experience in technical design, and/or civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering requirements and the legal framework for technical standards.
  • Knowledge and application of: Highway Design Standards, Sewers for adoption, Building Regs, British Standards and AutoCAD.
  • Good technical and legal knowledge and financial/commercial awareness.
  • Good organisational skills and flexibility to changing requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of NHBC, LABC and SBD Type approval.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical/engineering support to the land/development team for feasibility studies and site viability reports.
  • Identify the need for external consultants, agree scope/fees and deliver timelines.
  • Manage relationships with consultants to ensure timely information flow and NHBC-aligned standards.
  • Consider commercial implications relating to planning, design, statutory services and site infrastructure.
  • Assist in tendering, setup and establishment of on-site management arrangements, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to achieve Building Regulations and warranty approvals.
  • Prepare key status reports and KPI updates for the Technical function.
  • Coordinate utilities design, quotes and required agreements; manage the Adoption process.
  • Provide engineering support to site teams and internal departments; attend relevant technical meetings on procurement/approval of site infrastructure.
