Job description

Engine Validation Engineer

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Stafford

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mechanical verification and validation of diesel engines, components, and systems.
  • Defining and managing engine, system, and component validation plans.
  • Coordination of daily engineering activities and management of test and analysis activities.
  • Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods.
  • Technical reporting.
  • Ensuring all work complies with Perkins operating procedures and local work methods to meet quality standards.
  • Supporting the design team through FMEA processes.
  • Collaborating with platform teams at Stafford & Aurangabad facilities.
  • Working closely with global Caterpillar facilities.
  • Occasional overseas travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Experience in engine validation from diesel, petrol, or gas engine development.
  • Experience in FMEA, validation plan development, and work/test instructions.
  • Familiarity with 8D methodology and root cause analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems (fuel, cooling, turbocharging, lubrication).
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., CANape, Osiris).
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • High-quality technical reporting skills.
