Job description

Location: Victory Road, Derby DE24 8EL

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week (overtime available)

Salary: £11.52 - £11.87 per hour (£22,764 - £23,447 p.a.) dependent on experience and skills

About the Company:

The site is conveniently close to the A50, M1, and M42, making it easily accessible from Derby, Nottingham, and Leicester. Our UK business specializes in aerospace tooling, manufacturing, and sourcing tools for engine and airframe build and repair, working with high-profile OEMs to deliver quality products consistently.


About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engine stand manufacturing assembly operative who is looking to develop their skills further while working alongside our new assembly stand team in a fast-paced environment. This role will require collaborative working with a diverse team to support the assembly provision. Responsibilities include assembling engine stands to specification, preparing spare part kits, performing quality checks, and maintaining good housekeeping in the assembly area.


Responsibilities:

  1. Assembly of engine transportation stands to specification, ready for dispatch.
  2. Preparation of spare part kits ready for the assembly line.
  3. Perform required quality checks and testing in line with product specifications.
  4. General assembly duties, including maintaining the assembly area.
  5. Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the UK Management team.

About You:

  1. Proven knowledge and experience in assembly and sub-assembly operations.
  2. Previous experience using hand-held tools.
  3. Ability to read and understand build instruction manuals to ensure products conform to specific dimensions and meet required standards.
  4. Basic Maths and English knowledge.
  5. Dexterity.
  6. FLT experience is desirable.
  7. Overhead crane experience would be advantageous, but training will be provided to the successful candidate.
  8. Some previous mechanical/manufacturing knowledge would be advantageous.
  9. Excellent communication skills.
  10. Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Essential Requirements:

  1. Valid driving licence and passport.
  2. Willingness to travel within the UK if required.
