Electronic Systems Engineer - Engine Systems - 12-month contract

Location: Peterborough, UK
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Full-time

Rates: Market Rates p/hr

Our client, a global leader in industrial innovation, is seeking an Electronic Systems Engineer within our Integrated Components and Solutions division. You will be part of a collaborative team driving the development and integration of cutting-edge electrical and electronic control systems for off-highway powertrain applications.

What you'll do:

• Develop and support engine electronic systems from concept through post-production.
• Define system architecture, select components, and support validation and FMEA activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and support product development.
• Work hands-on in labs, engine test cells, and with real-world machines.

What we're looking for:

• Degree-qualified engineer with several years post-graduation experience in systems engineering activities involved in the development of electronic engine, machine, or automotive control systems. Alternatively, a suitably aligned HNC/NVQ level 4 with relevant experience.
• Experience in:
• Integration activities of electronic systems, including fault finding and design, PWM, analogue, and communication signals, as well as integrating electronic components.
• Developing detailed electronic customer requirements and technical specifications.
• Defining electronic features and coordinating their development.
• Performing system verification testing of components and software features.
• Participation in FMEA development.
• Understanding of internal combustion engines and control mechanisms such as governors.
• Experience with off-highway electronic control system development or similar (automotive, marine, military vehicles).
• Knowledge of engine systems related to electronics, e.g., fuel and air systems.
• Experience with CAN, Vector CANape, and CANalyzer tools.
• Familiarity with product structuring and configuration tools like Siemens Teamcenter Engineering, Creo.
• Experience with PPAP, FMEA facilitation, and design validation planning.
