Job description

Job Title: Engine Builder
Location: Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire
Duration: 3 months plus

Hours: 7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am till 1pm on a Friday.

We are currently recruiting for a number of Engine Builders for permanent roles to work within the Rail industry based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
  1. To be able to strip and re-build all the mechanical components of an engine, as per the work instruction.
  2. To be able to work to OEM manuals.
  3. To read and interpret assembly specifications and manuals, to plan assembly and build operations.
  4. The ability to verify conformance of parts to stock lists, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  5. To liaise with other business units to get the task completed.
  6. The ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  7. To accurately complete documentation to the company's standards.
  8. To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
  9. To mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
  10. To report any near misses.
  11. To comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies and procedures.
  12. To report any failures/faults identified.
