Gap Personnel are currently recruiting for 2 x Engine Builders to work with our client based in Barton under Needwood.
Details:
- Competitive salary
- 44 hours (Monday to Thurs 7am to 5pm & Fri 7am to 1pm) to be decreased to 40 hours from 01.09.25 (Monday to Thurs 7am to 4pm & Fri 7am to 1pm)
- Temp to Perm position
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace
- Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to
- Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence
- To be able to strip and re-build all the mechanical components of an engine, as per the work instruction.
- To be able to work to OEM manuals.
- To read and interpret assembly specifications and manuals, to plan assembly and build operations.
- The ability to verify conformance of parts to stock lists, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- To liaise with other business units to get the task completed.
- The ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- To accurately complete documentation to the Company’s standards
- To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
- To report any near misses.
- To comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies and procedures.
- To report any failures / faults identified.
The Person:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in motor repairs or equivalent preferred
- Relevant experience in rail or automotive industry
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Experienced HGV fitters / Heavy Plant Fitters who specialise with diesel engines would be suitable for the role
