Job summary

West Town Primary Academy is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support learning across early years, key stage 1 or 2. The role includes one-to-one and group support, adapting resources and employing a therapeutic approach when appropriate.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and SEND team to enhance educational opportunities, with term-time hours and potential part-time consideration. A positive, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths Grade C (4/5) or above.
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND; a therapeutic approach is beneficial.
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Able to adapt, take on new ideas and think on their feet.
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils across EYFS/KS1/KS2.
• Adapt teaching resources and methods to meet individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with the SENDCo and SEND team to support progress.
• Contribute to a supportive, caring learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with colleagues and families as appropriate.
