Job summary

Bury is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to deliver whole-class teaching when teaching staff are absent. You will supervise pupils, follow pre-planned lessons, and maintain a positive, orderly classroom that supports learning.

You will build positive relationships, support pupils’ progress, and assist with assessments, exams and school activities, including trips. The role is term-time only plus five days and emphasizes safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons in the absence of the timetabled teacher.
• Deliver lessons appropriate to age and ability to promote progression.
• Supervise and support pupils ensuring safety and access to learning.
• Maintain a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated teaching approach.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
• Support pastoral needs and assist with assessments and exams.
• Contribute to school trips and wider school activities.
• Attend training and keep up to date with safeguarding and procedures.
