Job summary

Jewish Care in the United Kingdom is looking for an Activities Organiser to develop and deliver a varied programme of activities that engages residents, supports independence and fosters community connections. You will plan, organise and lead social, recreational, educational and therapeutic activities, including outings and involvement with the wider Jewish community.

Qualifications

• Dementia awareness training or willingness to undertake.
• First Aid at Work certificate or willingness to train.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly manner.
• Ability to plan, organise and lead varied activities.
• Initiative, creativity and independence.
• Good IT skills including Publisher, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to source and book activities online.
• Prepare reports and undertake risk assessments.
• Teamwork and sensitivity to residents' needs.
• Awareness of Jewish culture and festivals is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver a varied programme reflecting residents' interests.
• Encourage participation to promote wellbeing and independence.
• Maintain links with the Jewish community and wider community.
• Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers.
• Facilitate resident committee meetings and use feedback.
• Source and book activities; prepare reports and risk assessments.
• Build relationships with colleagues, families and external providers.
• Introduce fresh ideas to enrich residents' lives.
