Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Enforcement Support Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £20.45 - £26.55 per Hour

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Enforcement Support Officer to assist in the efficient and effective collection of revenue in accordance with legislation and service objectives. The role involves supporting Enforcement Agents, handling complex queries, tracing absconders, and providing professional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in revenue collection by tracing debtors and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Support Enforcement Agents in workload allocation and maintain accurate records.
  • Deal with complex customer queries via telephone, email, and in-person.
  • Maintain and update enforcement records to ensure compliance with GDPR and audit requirements.
  • Provide advice and guidance on revenue collection and enforcement matters.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including debt advice agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Sufficient education to prepare statistical data, interpret legislation, and produce reports.

Essentials:

  • Previous experience in a revenue collection or enforcement support environment.
  • Experience handling sensitive customer queries and complaints.
  • Knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, and Sundry Debts enforcement legislation.
  • Understanding of welfare rights and financial hardship cases.
  • Proficiency in using computerised workflow and case management systems.
