Job description

Your new company
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused Enforcement Officer to join our Food and Safety Team. If you enjoy being out and about, engaging with businesses, and making a real impact on public health and safety-this role is for you! This is a temporary position until March 2026.

Your new role
In this role, you'll be responsible for visiting approximately 500-600 food premises to assist businesses in completing outstanding questionnaires. You'll ensure all necessary information is accurately gathered and entered into our system to support regulatory compliance. You'll also provide support to Category D officers as needed, contribute to inspections and enforcement activities, and help identify and address any unfair practices or breaches of legislation. The role offers flexible working arrangements-site visits can be scheduled Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays to complete administrative tasks.

What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for candidates with either enforcement experience-such as in Environmental Health or Trading Standards-or a background in hospitality management, particularly those who have managed pubs or restaurants and possess strong Health & Safety knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, given the travel involved in the role.

What you'll get in return
In return, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to public health and safety, working in a role that directly impacts local communities. You'll benefit from flexible working arrangements designed to suit your lifestyle, including the option to manage your own schedule for site visits and remote admin work. You'll also be part of a supportive and collaborative team environment, with ongoing opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your skills. This role offers a hybrid working pattern and offering an hourly rate between £16.37 & £18.72, however the client is open to negotiation.
