Job summary

Axle Energy is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own and optimise daily operations within UK energy trading. You’ll develop deep knowledge of flexibility markets, collaborate across teams, and build data pipelines that power analytics.

The role focuses on core analytics skills rather than a full ETL framework, centring on source data understanding and pipeline construction. You will work to ensure revenue delivery, support asset management and settlements, and shape market insights in a rapidly

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills for analysing data.
• Strong analytical skills: you’ll be speaking MW, kWh, and £ every day.
• A deep-seated motivation to combat climate change.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Owning operations for UK energy trading: daily trading processes and settlements review.
• Debugging edge cases across trading, asset registration and settlement processes.
• Identifying risks to revenue and delivery and mitigating them.
• Communicating insights clearly to engineering and commercial teams.
• Building and maintaining relationships with DSOs and UK market regulators.
