About the role

Join the dynamic Energy & Sustainability team within the Facilities Management and Real Estate (FMRE UK) organisation at our Filton site. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across the entire Airbus UK portfolio with direct accountability to our team.

We are responsible for a wide range of deliverables, including:

  • Energy/Water Consumption Management, Billing, Monitoring & Reporting;
  • Energy/Water Forecasting & Target Setting;
  • Specification & Validation of Energy/Water Efficiency Improvement Projects;
  • Specification & Validation of Decarbonisation and Renewable Energy Projects;
  • Maintaining Compliance with Environmental Regulations and standards (e.g. ISO 50001);
  • Securing the Achievement of 2030 High5+ Sustainability Targets.

This exciting opportunity offers successful applicants the chance to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation and directly contributing towards Airbus' 2030 Sustainability Goals. The integrated Energy & Sustainability UK team incorporates both Airbus Commercial and Airbus Defence & Space (ADS) and collaborates with multiple service lines across the UK, including Maintenance, General Services and Building & Construction.

What you will be doing

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Support the development and oversight of Energy/Water strategies, contribute to efficiency projects, analyze data, and learn about regulatory compliance and new technologies;
  • Support projects to identify and implement energy/water saving action plans, including surveys and data analysis;
  • Gain experience with digitalization tools for data management, including metering, Building Management Systems, and Energy/Water Management software;
  • Develop knowledge in defining and applying energy management strategies, understanding global/local energy markets, and learning about relevant energy codes, standards, and regulations.
Requirements and qualifications

Open to Undergraduates only. It is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Engineering, Energy/Water Management, Environmental Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field with a focus on Sustainability and Data Analysis;
  • Data analysis, report writing and presentation skills;
  • The ability to listen, understand and communicate information;
  • Enthusiastic and proactive and take a hands-on approach to tasks;
  • An interest in finding creative solutions to complex problems;
  • Curious and interested in Environment and Sustainability.

Security clearance: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
