Your company

A multidisciplinary technical consultancy that provides technical services to a diverse range of public and private sector clients, including residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education, and healthcare. Their services include civil engineering infrastructure, transport assessments, flood risk and drainage, building foundation design, ground investigation services, and more.

This is an exciting new opportunity within the business to develop, grow, and lead a new department. The role will enable the successful candidate to work across a wide range of projects and disciplines, undertaking building energy assessments, producing energy strategy statements for planning applications, and helping the company to deliver wider sustainability goals for our clients.

Your new role

This position can be based in Leicester or Birmingham. If you’re looking to apply your specialist knowledge, expand your capabilities, and develop a team, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

  • Lead on all utility, energy, and sustainability projects
  • Head a wider team which will encompass utilities, and work closely with our Acoustic Air team
  • Produce energy and sustainability statements and strategies
  • Complete energy assessments (EPC, DEC, ESOS)
  • Assist with the production of environmental assessments such as BREEAM
  • Lead on Dynamic Thermal Modelling
  • Complete utilities reports, including assessment of capacity and diversions
  • Support with business development and possess market awareness
  • Provide technical support and guidance to our clients and internal teams; from initial enquiry through to project completion

What you'll need to succeed

  • BSc/BEng in Sustainability/Environmental/Surveying/Building Services Disciplines or similar
  • Relevant experience within the sector
  • Qualifications, including but not limited to; BREEAM, ESOS, Non-Domestic and Domestic Energy Assessor, Low Carbon Consultant, and Public Buildings Energy Assessor
  • Successfully lead energy projects
  • Complete energy assessments
  • Innovative skills with commercial knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills and time management
  • Chartered status or working towards becoming a member of a professional body
  • Hold a full, clean driving license and have your own private car
