Job summary

First Recruitment Group seeks a Construction Subcontract Engineer for a contract role in the North West England energy sector. You will report to the Subcontract Manager and oversee subcontract administration, cost control, and forecasting across mechanical, buildings, and E&I works packages.

The role requires 3–5 years in a similar commercial/contracts position within Oil & Gas or energy, with strong negotiation and analytical abilities to drive project success.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial/contracts role within Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.
• Experience on large construction projects, onshore mandatory.
• Ability to engage and negotiate effectively with subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Subcontract Administration procedures are implemented and followed by Subcontractors.
• Initiate letters/notices to Subcontractors and respond to communications.
• Monitor Subcontractor performance and review progress payments.
• Support in identifying variations/claims affecting programme and forecast.
• Analyse Site queries/instructions to determine cost impact and lead price negotiations.
