Job summary

McKinsey & Company in London seeks an energetic professional to join the Energy Solutions team, developing models, analyses, and benchmarks to support strategic client decisions. You’ll work with experts across energy domains, contributing to high-impact projects and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• University degree in management, engineering, economics, geosciences, petroleum engineering or related quantitative field.
• Experience or internships in the oil and gas sector (upstream, midstream, downstream) including exploration and production, refining, petrochemicals, fuel retail, lubricants or trading.
• Strong interest in the energy industry with focus on oil and gas operations, energy markets, and energy transition; decarbonization familiarity is a plus.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team and engage with individuals at all levels.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, results-driven team with a focus on coaching and development.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and aptitude for working with numbers and quantitative models.
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Tableau.
• Experience with modeling tools such as Python, R, or VBA is a plus.
• Availability to travel.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas in English and local office language.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily problem-solving, structuring, modeling, and analytical support for Energy Solutions tools and analyses.
• Develop tools/benchmarks and synthesize findings into McKinsey-formatted products, such as complex models, reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with other experts to solve client problems and deepen knowledge and skills.
• Receive training, coaching, and mentoring to accelerate growth and capabilities.
• Be based in London, joining the Energy Solutions team within McKinsey's Global Energy & Materials practice.
