Role Description

As the Energy Transition lead for England and Wales, you will drive the growth of our energy transition efforts in collaboration with the UK Solution Lead Energy Transition, the UK Sales Director, and the UK Market Sector Lead for Energy & Resources. This is an exciting time to be part of the solution to a challenge impacting every sector and country globally. Arcadis and GBA Resilience's top ambition for growth is to expand our Energy Transition services, with the UK playing a key role in this market expansion.

You will report to the Resilience UK&I Sales Director and will have the opportunity to develop new business using your own and Arcadis's global network. A key part of this role is to identify market developments and how Arcadis can capitalize on these opportunities. You should be an expert in Energy Transition, with a strong network, in-depth knowledge of client requirements at the board level, and the ability to co-create with clients and establish strategic collaborations with ecosystem partners.

As a Strategic Business Development Lead, you will be passionate about connecting the dots and have an entrepreneurial mindset that drives the development of our UK and global service offerings. You will guide overall strategy in the English and Welsh Transition journey, leveraging your network and understanding of our strategic goals.

Role Accountabilities
  • Co-develop a targeted client development strategy with the UK Sales Director and the National Energy Transition Solution Leader, including managing a portfolio of priority accounts.
  • Identify and interpret market and client trends, converting them into actionable business opportunities.
  • Work with global and UK leaders to integrate energy transition considerations into proposals and projects.
  • Explore new topics like floating wind, linking client conversations with technical staff and account leaders.
  • Contribute to the growth of Energy Transition key client accounts in Resilience to achieve our business strategy.
  • Create a supportive environment for high performance.
  • Negotiate with clients and develop strategic partnerships and subconsultants.
  • Develop a global network within the energy transition discipline and leverage client relationships across sectors.
  • Travel as needed to meet clients and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the UK Energy Transition market and experience influencing at senior levels.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of developing new business and closing complex negotiations.
  • Experience in client development, managing complex relationships at the board level across multiple jurisdictions.
  • International experience across industries and functions, managing projects across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience in driving innovation, new business models, and working with alliances and ecosystems.
  • Ability to lead change and bring teams through transformation, creating stability in uncertain times.
  • Proven people management skills, fostering high-performing teams, and recognizing success.
