Job summary

Knights Brown Construction Limited is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Energy team in Norwich, supporting commercial management on wind, solar, BESS and National Grid projects. You will assist the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager throughout the NEC/FIDIC contract lifecycle and gain hands-on experience toward professional qualification.

Based in Norwich, you will work with project and site teams, prepare monthly payments, manage measurements and valuations, and

Qualifications

Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying (or working towards)
Some experience in a commercial role within civil engineering or construction
Understanding of measurement and valuation principles
Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills

Responsibilities

Support monthly applications for payment and client valuations
Measure completed works and maintain accurate quantity records
Assist with NEC and FIDIC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, variations and notices
Prepare subcontract and supplier enquiries, tender comparisons and orders
Assess subcontractor applications for payment and maintain subcontract accounts
Assist with monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs), cost reporting and forecasting
Work closely with project and site teams to capture change and protect entitlement
Support the preparation and agreement of client and subcontract final accounts
