As the UK’s largest water company, we’re tackling today’s challenges while building resilience for tomorrow, so our customers, communities, and the environment can thrive. We’re looking for an Energy Programme Analyst to join our Energy & Carbon team, playing a key role in delivering our Energy & Carbon Investment Programme. This is an opportunity to use analytical and project management skills to help reduce energy use, cut costs, and support our net zero ambitions.

Base location: Hybrid – Clearwater Court – RG1 8DB, 3 days a month in the office; occasional travel to sites. Working hours: 36 hours, Monday to Friday.

What you’ll be doing as an Energy Programme Analyst

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of projects and programmes that improve energy performance across Thames Water. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Programme control & reporting – maintaining an up-to-date view of programme costs, schedules, and outcomes, and producing monthly reporting to support effective decision-making.
  • Data analysis & insight – analysing programme, energy, and operational data to validate benefits, develop business cases, and create case studies showcasing delivery success.
  • Document management – managing the team’s SharePoint site to ensure documents are well-organised, accessible, and aligned with agreed protocols.
  • Project management – supporting and, where appropriate, leading projects within the programme and wider Energy & Carbon team remit.

What you should bring to the role

Essential skills and experience
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with data to deliver meaningful insights.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-organised, proactive, and self-starting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across teams and functions.
Desirable skills and experience
  • A degree in a relevant subject (engineering, scientific, or energy management).
  • Project and/or programme management experience or qualifications.
  • Knowledge of energy management principles and practice.
  • Familiarity with the water industry, including water and waste treatment processes.
  • Experience using SharePoint and/or Power BI.
What’s in it for you?
  • Competitive salary up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with length of service (plus bank holidays)
  • Performance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets
  • Generous Pension Scheme through AON
  • Access to benefits for health and wellbeing, and finances—annual health MOTs, physiotherapy, counselling, Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers, and life assurance.
