The opportunity:

The Energy, Marine and Construction Claims Team Leader will provide a quality-focused claims service and is responsible for ensuring the effective and prompt settlement of Energy, Marine, and Construction claims notified to the Commercial Insurance Energy, Marine, and Construction Claims Team. They will provide effective leadership & development to a team of claims adjusters.

What will you be doing?

• Provide leadership to a team of claims handlers
• Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims in the Energy and Construction business area
• Investigate and negotiate claims within defined authority limits
• Set accurate case reserves
• Contribute to high-level technical output from the team
• Foster a positive and supportive team culture
• Manage external counsel and experts locally and internationally
• Handle and resolve all claims inquiries from customers, brokers, and third parties

Who are we looking for?

• Numeracy and literacy skills qualified to A level or equivalent
• Proficient in Outlook and MS Office
• Proactive and innovative in claims solutions within technical claims environment
• ACII or equivalent qualification desirable; knowledge of products/services offered by the team
• Commercially aware with market, business, and risk understanding
• Understanding of legislation and legal liability
• Knowledge of London Market Insurance environment
• Ability to interpret policy covers
• Numerate and analytical with excellent negotiation skills
• Team player with strong customer service skills
• Substantial experience in the London Market in a similar role
• Previous team management experience is desirable
