• To ensure the effective and efficient use of energy and energy services throughout the council by directing investment in energy and water efficiency and coordinating corporate programmes and the implementation of efficiency measures.
• To monitor energy use and to identify opportunities for energy saving measures and the use of renewable energy in the provision of council services including development of energy partnerships and potential ESCOs.
