Location: Handforth (Hybrid / WFH + ad hoc travel)

Full-time | Permanent Grade D

Salary: £50k - £60k + benefits

We’re looking for a passionate and data-driven

Energy Manager

to lead our utilities strategy and help us achieve our ambitious Net Zero goals. If you're ready to make a real impact in a values-led, fast-paced and fun environment, this could be your next big move.

What you’ll be doing

Lead the day-to-day management of energy, water, waste, and gas across our pet care centres, standalone vet practices, and distribution centres.

Own and optimise utilities budgets and contracts.

Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives that support pet welfare and reduce carbon emissions.

Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive sustainability and innovation.

Manage and mentor an Environment Advisor, helping to grow our internal expertise.

Represent Pets at Home at industry forums and lead the charge on environmental awareness.

What you’ll bring

Proven experience managing utilities in a large, multi-site organisation.

Strong knowledge of energy markets, environmental legislation, its practical application and carbon reporting (Scope 1 & 2).

A track record of delivering energy-saving projects and influencing behavioural change.

Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.

A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. Energy Institute, NEBOSH, IEMA).

Bonus points for experience in PPA procurement or a technical engineering background, a track record of reducing consumption and delivering technological changes
