Qualifications

Job description

Due to promotion, we have a rare opportunity for a Site Energy Manager based at a large manufacturing site in North Birmingham. Great salary, benefits and prospects. Monday to Friday 8.00 - 4.30.

This site is part of a global recycling / packaging manufacturinggroup.The Energy Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient provision of power and steam to support the continuous operation of the plantand associated utilities. This role plays a critical part in leading the sites energy strategy, ensuring all health, safety, environmental, and legal compliance standards are rigorously upheld.

With a proactive and strategic mindset, the Energy Manager will lead and develop the Energy Team, ensuring strong cross-functional communication with the site Leadership Team. The role requires robust operational oversight and forward-thinking planning to keep the site at the forefront of energy generation and distribution.

Essential

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Highly computer literate, particularly with Microsoft and data management systems
  • Contractor Management
  • Data analysis
  • General Knowledge of Energy Management
  • Managing Energy and Carbon reduction projects or similar
  • A relevant Degree or equivalent in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering), Energy Management, or a related technical discipline
  • High levels of written and oral communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize self and others

Desirable

  • A related post-graduate qualification is desirable, along with professional certifications such as BOAS (Management Level), ISO 50001 Internal Auditor, and/or APM PMQ (or equivalent). Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it would be anadvantage
  • Developing business cases for investments in energy efficiency projects
  • General understanding of mechanical/electrical systems
  • Managing Emission Trading Scheme (UKETS / EUETS)
  • Knowledge of PowerBI
  • Project delivery (from the concept stage to commissioning)
  • Managing CHPs and Boilers / Energy Plant
  • BOAS qualification, knowledge of the BG01 and PSSR2000 regulations
