Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the Energy Team on the ETP Project, initially based in Cannock, with travel to site in South Wales.

You will manage procurement strategies for high‑pressure pipelines, compressor stations and AGIs, and procure mechanical/electrical equipment as part of a multi‑discipline team. You will report to the Head of Procurement – Energy and drive supplier performance.

Qualifications

• MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience in technical procurement within a construction/engineering context.
• Experience with subcontract procurement and supplier management.
• Experience on project-based procurement or commercial roles.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver procurement of key materials and subcontract packages for energy projects.
• Develop and execute supply chain strategies and procurement plans.
• Manage supplier relationships and bid evaluations.
• Draft and manage tenders and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with NEC4/FIDIC/ICHEME terms.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and expeditors to meet schedules.
• Monitor quality, timelines and cost performance across projects.
