Qualifications

  • Experience in boiler, refrigeration, compressed air, and reverse osmosis plant operation preferred but not essential.
  • Multi-disciplined background in manufacturing engineering through a time-served apprenticeship.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 and holds an HNC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of the Energy Centre and associated equipment.
  • Adhere to health & safety protocols and assist in safety document reviews.
  • Resolve breakdowns promptly to ensure efficient operation.

Job description

Job Title – Shift Engineer – Energy Centre

Location: Northampton

Job Length – Permanent

Working Hours – 4 on 4 off

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the Energy Centre and all associated equipment/services.
  • Adhere to site policies, especially health & safety protocols, SOPs, SSWs, ESIP’s, near-miss processes, and risk assessments. Contribute to the creation and review of relevant safety and legislative documents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of engineering workshops and work areas, in line with GMP or 5S standards.
  • Resolve breakdown issues promptly to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Energy Centre.
  • Prioritize jobs and manage time effectively in collaboration with production colleagues to support brewery operations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in boiler operation and maintenance is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in refrigeration plant operation and maintenance is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in compressed air plant operation and maintenance is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in reverse osmosis plant operation and maintenance is desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding of ‘right first time’ principles.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 and hold a HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Multi-disciplined with a background in manufacturing engineering, preferably through a time-served apprenticeship.
