RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials. It is a leading European energy trading house.
Our “Site Reliability Engineering” Team is part of RWEST IT, with team members located across Essen (Germany), Swindon, and London (UK). We support various applications, analyze systems (ETRM, RISK, etc.), research problems, perform maintenance, coordinate activities, and develop cloud-native and in-house applications in the energy market. The Endur Analyst role focuses on ensuring system stability by monitoring infrastructure and assisting the business with daily issues such as trade capture, APM services, EoD maintenance, etc. The goal is to work closely with business and IT stakeholders to resolve issues quickly within incident management, problem management, and CI/CD deployment processes.
- Provide operational support by analyzing systems, researching problems, and coordinating maintenance of applications.
- Improve processes continuously through innovative ideas, automation, and enhanced monitoring using platforms like Elastic and Grafana.
- Conduct daily infrastructure and health checks, support business operations, identify root causes of failures, and coordinate fixes with development teams.
- Work with ION-ENDUR to manage end-of-day data and workflows.
- Gather requirements from business and IT teams to provide solutions via incident and service request handling.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for quick issue resolution, maintenance, patching, and user management.
- Work within a DevOps model with development teams and business stakeholders to develop enhancements and coordinate changes.
- Participate in bug fixes, change requests, and enhancements in collaboration with ETRM stakeholders.
- Be prepared for shift rotations with 24/7 on-call duties and occasional travel.
- Contribute to migration projects of legacy applications to cloud platforms (AWS) and multi-account setups.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Have basic knowledge of the ETRM domain and experience with ENDUR modules like Trading Manager and Market Manager.
- Experience with APM, simulations, EOD batch/risk reports, and trade lifecycle management.
- Experience in system upgrades, regression testing, and bug tracking with ION.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, JVS, OpenComponents) and databases (Oracle, RDS).
- Ability to work under pressure and possess strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills and soft skills for collaboration.
- Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions in an agile environment, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Interest in expanding IT operations in Endur and implementing best practices and DevOps.
Advantages, but not mandatory
- Functional and business knowledge in Endur across front, risk, and back-office functions.
- Knowledge of report builder, Microsoft SQL, and query creation.
- Experience with automation using Python and visualization with Elastic/Grafana.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
