Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust’s Endoscopy Unit is seeking an Endoscopy Support Worker to join a busy team. The role requires theatre experience and an NHS care certificate, with responsibilities spanning decontamination, traceability and supporting the MDT in delivering high-quality patient care.
The unit provides bowel cancer screening with multiple procedure rooms and is expanding to meet increasing workload. The candidate should work well under supervision and be willing to learn.

We are looking for an innovative motivated Endoscopy Support Worker (ESW) to join our friendly Endoscopy team
We are a JAG accredited unit providing Bowel Cancer screening for South East London. We have 4 procedure rooms and will be expanding the unit due to increase work load.
We are a busy unit providing therapeutic, diagnostic and emergency service for both Inpatients as well as outpatients.
The successful candidate will have an excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills and the ability to use their initiative.
The Endoscopy Support Worker will participate in the decontamination, traceability and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic procedures.
The Endoscopy Support Worker will also work under the supervision of the qualified nursing staff to participate and support the members of the multi-disciplinary team in delivering high quality patient care.

Assist with the Decontamination and reprocessing of Endoscopy equipment in accordance with local and national guidelines.
Maintain accurate traceability records of all endoscopes and endoscopic accessories and ancillaries.
Assist with quality assurance checks.

To assist qualified staff in monitoring agreed standards of practice within the unit.
