A healthcare provider in City of Westminster is seeking a full-time staff nurse to join their endoscopy unit. The role involves providing high standards of care, participating in technical procedures, and managing patient assessments. The ideal candidate will be a good team player with a willingness to learn, and previous experience in an acute hospital environment is desirable. Full training will be provided as needed.
We are looking to recruit an endoscopy full time staff nurse to join our dynamic and skilled team working in endoscopy. It is desirable that applicants have previous acute hospital setting experience, however full training will be given if necessary. We are looking for a good team player, who has a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Our endoscopy unit consists of 4 rooms. The procedures carried out are varied and include Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, PEG insertion, Endoscopic stenting and Bronchoscopy for outpatients and inpatients (when required). The unit also provides recovery facilities. The successful candidate will be required to work 2 days a week which could include evenings and weekends. Informal visits are welcomed.
To provide high standard of nursing care, and to actively participate in and contribute to the management of the Endoscopy Unit. The post holder is also expected to carry out all relevant forms of care with/without direct supervision, following appropriate training and will be required to demonstrate procedures to qualified and unqualified staff. Participate in the maintenance of endoscopes and other specialized equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and provide technical assistance during such procedures.

Be accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of individual patient care. Undertake risk assessments to the patients that are going to have endoscopic procedures. Undertake nursing assessments, obtaining a detailed past medical history and ordering appropriate clinical investigations. The post holder will be participating in the out of hours on-call rota for Gastrointestinal Bleed rota. Undertake face to face and telephone pre assessment in the absence of the pre assessment nurse to ensure patients are appropriately assessed for the procedure, offering support and advice as appropriate.
