Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Specialist in Endoscopy to join a high-performing, JAG-accredited endoscopy service delivering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across Wye Valley NHS Trust's two-site model. Working within a multidisciplinary team of Gastroenterologists, Upper and Lower GI Surgeons, Clinical Endoscopists, specialist nurses and decontamination technicians, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care for a population of 235,000 across Herefordshire and Powys., The role is central to supporting the Trust's commitment to high-quality endoscopy, with the expectation of undertaking five independent scoping lists per week, covering both upper GI endoscopy and lower GI endoscopy. The post holder will also play an active role in supporting the department's training culture, including participation in the JETS training programme, and will contribute to the clinical supervision and development of Clinical Endoscopists. As part of ongoing service expansion, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake further training in Transnasal Endoscopy (TNE) with appropriate support and mentorship from senior endoscopists.
