Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy Team in Wirral. The unit is JAG accredited and performs over 17,000 procedures annually; Endoscopy experience is desirable but not essential.

The post involves assisting endoscopists and caring for patients before, during and after procedures, while supporting safe, high-quality care within a busy unit. Shifts are 8am–7pm, six days a week with bank holidays and a day off in lieu.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Endoscopy experience is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to participate in audits and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for a named caseload.
• Assist in providing a therapeutic environment for patients and carers.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe care.
• Contribute to audits and implement changes as required.
• Act as shift coordinator in absence of manager; supervise junior staff.
