Job summary

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to join the Endoscopy department on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). The role requires flexible shift coverage and offers a salary up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience, training and qualifications.

Ideal candidates will have senior endoscopy experience, registration with NMC/HCPC, and leadership in patient care, governance and decontamination.

Qualifications

• Senior Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.
• Pain management and care of deteriorating patient with conscious sedation experience.
• Clinical governance and audit experience.
• Clinical reasoning across varied patient cases including decontamination.
• Experience working with Consultants to improve practices.
• Registration as a Practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Endoscopy Care and Decontamination qualifications (basic and advanced).
• Endoscopy Decontamination: Operators and Managers Course.
• Teaching, assessing or mentorship qualifications.
• Knowledge of standards and bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01-06).
• ILS experience; dual-skills in recovery, scrub or anaesthetics desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate care provision within the Endoscopy Unit.
• Provide quality peri-procedure patient care under supervision and leadership.
• Implement best practice standards in endoscopy service delivery.
• Develop and support policies and strategies to improve service delivery.
• Adhere to departmental decontamination programme for flexible endoscopes.
• Complete departmental risk and COSHH assessments and address actions.
• Comply with all mandatory training.
