Job Description:
Overview of the independent end-point assessor role:
The Government requires all apprenticeships to include an end-point assessment (EPA), which holistically evaluates the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) acquired during the apprenticeship. This ensures apprentices meet employer standards and are fully competent in their roles. Pearson provides confidence to employers that completing an apprenticeship signifies job readiness, with consistent assessment standards across all apprenticeships.
An independent EPA means assessors have no conflicts of interest and are unbiased in their evaluations. They assess apprentices onsite on dates coordinated with employers or providers, record outcomes with justifications, and ensure quality through Pearson’s processes.
IEAs for this EPA will be qualified assessors aligned with the occupational profile, trained, standardized, and approved for this role. They will conduct assessments per the apprenticeship plan and Pearson’s materials. Details are in the Key Accountabilities and Person Specification sections below.
