Overview of the Role

As an independent end-point assessor for Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Theatre Support) (Level 3), you will evaluate apprentices' knowledge, skills, and behaviors to ensure they meet industry standards. This involves conducting assessments onsite or remotely, recording outcomes, and ensuring compliance with Pearson's quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in regular training and standardisation activities.
  2. Maintain evidence of ongoing CPD.
  3. Assess candidate performance according to published criteria.
  4. Follow Pearson’s assessment protocols and quality assurance processes.
  5. Respond promptly to EPA planning and operational activities.
  6. Report risks, issues, and suspected malpractice.
  7. Ensure high-quality, accurate assessment records.
  8. Support Pearson in appeals, if necessary.
  9. Manage travel arrangements and conflicts of interest.
  10. Contribute to continuous improvement and external quality assurance activities.

Occupational Profile: Senior Healthcare Support Workers assist registered practitioners in delivering healthcare, performing clinical and non-clinical tasks, and working across various settings. They are accountable for their work and act within their competence, following a code of conduct.

Theatre Support: Support patients before, during, and after theatre procedures, assist with checks, equipment, and patient comfort, supporting surgical teams.

Essential Background and Experience
  • Occupational competence in theatre support.
