About Pearson
Pearson is the world's leading learning company, with 35,000 employees in more than 70 countries, working to help people of all ages make measurable progress in their careers and lives. We focus on putting the apprentice at the centre of everything we do, because wherever learning flourishes, so do we.
We are looking for Independent End-Point Assessors for the following locations:
The Government requires that all apprenticeships include an end-point assessment (EPA), which is a comprehensive evaluation of the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) learned throughout the apprenticeship. The purpose is to ensure apprentices meet employer standards and are fully competent in their roles. Pearson provides confidence to employers that completing an apprenticeship indicates full job readiness, with consistent assessment standards regardless of location or provider.
An independent EPA means that assessors have no conflict of interest and have not been involved in the apprentice's training or assessment process. Assessments can be conducted onsite or remotely, with outcomes recorded and justified for grading decisions. These activities are quality assured by Pearson.
Assessors will be registered healthcare professionals aligned with the apprentices' occupational profiles. They will be trained, standardized, and approved to operate as IEAs, conducting assessments according to Pearson's assessment plans and materials. Please refer to the Key Accountabilities and Person Specification sections for more details.
Assistant Practitioners work alongside the health and social care team, engaging directly with patients or clients, providing high-quality, compassionate care. They operate above Healthcare Support Workers, with a deeper understanding of health factors, anatomy, and physiology. Roles vary by employer needs, including activities like patient assessments, care coordination, and clinical skills such as catheterization, wound care, and discharge planning.
Assistant Practitioners work under supervision of registered practitioners, who remain accountable for delegated activities. They must be competent, confident, and aware of their limits, alerting supervisors if they lack skills or confidence.
