Job summary

Elwood Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer in London (hybrid) to design, build, and optimise a next‑generation EMS platform across multiple regions. You will work on low-latency, high-throughput systems, ensuring correctness and high availability for global trading customers.

The role requires strong backend experience with Rust and distributed architectures, plus collaboration with product, QA and infra teams. A dynamic fintech environment with modern tooling awaits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Hands-on Rust production experience; able to explain design.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of multi-tenancy patterns and cloud deployments.
• Familiar with PostgreSQL, Redis and related databases.
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Responsibilities

• Platform development for a low-latency, multi-region EMS platform.
• Analyse and optimise latency in critical paths.
• Maintain distributed, fault-tolerant systems across regions.
• Implement real-time monitoring, telemetry and alerts.
• Collaborate with product, QA and infra teams for deployments.
• Conduct code reviews to raise team standards.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development.
