Overview

EMRS Design Architect
Rate: £580/day Inside IR35
Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid, London (1-2 days on site)

We are seeking a self-motivated EMRS Design Architect to play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of critical market systems, including Contracts for Difference (CfD), Capacity Market (CM), and Nuclear Regulated Asset Base (RAB) schemes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, contributing to system design activities and ensuring that solutions align with strategic goals.
  • You will possess strong knowledge of EMRS's role within the CM, CfD, and RAB schemes, and use this expertise to influence and improve solution designs. You will actively participate in all project life cycle stages, from initial concept through to operational support and decommissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing vendor design artefacts to ensure adherence to established architectural principles, driving improvements across both functional and non-functional areas, and championing best practices in system design and analysis.
  • The role also involves building and maintaining effective professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in using design patterns and industry-recognised standards.
  • Experience with model-driven design using Sparx Enterprise Architect or other UML-based tools is essential. Familiarity with DevOps practices, Jira or equivalent project/issue tracking tools, and delivering software in an agile environment will be highly advantageous.
  • This opportunity is suited to an individual who thrives in a challenging environment and is eager to take ownership of tasks while remaining flexible and responsive to evolving project demands. A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail are vital, as is the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
