Job summary

Hawkley Hall High School in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and forward-thinking team. The role supports students with SEND, promotes inclusion, assists teachers, and contributes to wider school life.

The post is 25.5 hours per week, term time plus one week, with a salary of £15,116 - £15,596. The school values CPD, collaboration, and safeguarding. Start date: as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children of relevant age or learning need.
• GCSE grade 4 (grade C) or above in English and Maths.
• Basic ICT skills and understanding of learning resources.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (desirable).
• Willingness to undertake further training and first aid (desirable).
• Understanding of child development and relevant educational policies (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND in and out of the classroom.
• Promote inclusion, independence and engagement in learning.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery.
• Provide feedback to students, teachers and parents/carers.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and supervision duties.
