Job summary

Parkfield Primary School is seeking a teaching assistant to work with class teachers and the wider staff team, delivering learning activities for individuals, small groups or whole classes. The role includes supervising lessons during short-term teacher absence and supporting children with SEND to ensure inclusive learning.

Fluent spoken English is essential. The post notes that visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience: Working collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and other colleagues.
• Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, supporting individuals and small groups.
• Helping pupils stay engaged and on task.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver learning activities with the class teacher for individuals, small groups or the whole class.
• Support lessons by keeping children engaged, focused and ready to learn.
• Supervise the whole class and deliver pre-prepared activities during short-term teacher absence.
• Support the teacher with day-to-day organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
• Promote inclusion, supporting children with SEND so that all pupils can learn, progress and achieve.
• Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
