Job summary

GSL Education Lincoln Branch are recruiting a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Spilsby. You will work with teachers to deliver lessons, support individuals and small groups, and help create an inclusive learning environment.

Experience with children is desirable, alongside a patient, proactive approach and strong communication skills. An enhanced DBS is required or must be willing to apply for one.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
• Confidence in supporting pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
• Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE or an NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who require additional assistance.
• Help prepare learning materials, classroom resources and activities.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and positive learning habits.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND, where required.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, organised classroom.
• Assist pupils with their social, emotional and communication development.
• Monitor pupils' engagement and progress, sharing observations with the class teacher.
• Encourage inclusion, cooperation and positive relationships among pupils.
• Follow school policies and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
