Job summary

Orion Academy is seeking Teaching Assistants to support Co Head Teachers and teaching staff in delivering high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

You will assist in delivering highly personalised lessons, work restoratively to enhance pupil outcomes, and liaise with families to secure the best possible progress and well-being across the school community.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification (GCSE or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Understanding of child development and learning
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • Ability to work flexibly across the whole school
  • Ability to support PE lessons
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic, especially under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Supporting teachers and colleagues to deliver highly personalised and bespoke lessons
  • Working restoratively to enhance pupil learning
  • Working closely with other professionals and families
  • Supporting the creation of a climate for success for students with SEN & disabilities
  • Promoting high standards in class teams
  • Assisting in the educational and social development of students
