Job summary

Education Matters Group is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream secondary school in the Bromley area with a September 2026 start. The role involves supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering tailored 1:1 and small-group help, and working with the SEND team to enable engagement with lessons.

Applicants should have experience supporting pupils with SEND, including those who are pre-verbal or non-verbal, and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with complex communication needs is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
• Work alongside teachers and the SEND team to provide personalised support.
• Encourage communication, independence and positive behaviour.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
