Responsibilities

• Provide pupil support to meet standards required by the academy and external bodies.
• Support pupils to engage and interact with others and take part in activities led by the teacher.
• Set challenging expectations and promote self-esteem and independent learning.
• Provide feedback to pupils on progress under teacher guidance.
• Promote inclusion and monitor safety and access to learning activities for pupils, including those with SEN.
• Act as a key worker to individual or groups of children.
• Create and maintain a constructive learning environment and assist with the display of pupils' work.
• Assist with planning and monitoring learning activities and recording progress.
• Provide detailed feedback to teachers on achievement, progress and next steps.
• Promote good pupil behaviour and manage conflicts in line with policy.
• Establish relationships with parents/carers and manage routine clerical tasks.
• Undertake structured learning activities and interventions aligned to local/national strategies.
• Support ICT use and help pupils develop competence in its use.
• Prepare and maintain equipment/resources for lessons.
