Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Humanities Teacher for a specialist SEMH provision in Wolverhampton. This full-time temporary to permanent role starts ASAP, teaching Humanities to young adults with SEMH needs in a nurturing environment.

QTS is required; candidates should have strong classroom and behaviour management skills and a passion for helping students overcome barriers to education.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Humanities in a secondary or specialist setting.
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Excellent classroom management and restorative/trauma-informed de-escalation approaches.
• Strong communication with students, colleagues and parents/carers.

Responsibilities

• Teach Humanities to young adults with SEMH needs, delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies and de-escalate challenging situations.
• Build positive relationships to support academic, social and emotional development.
• Deliver learning in a nurturing environment aligned with SEMH provision.
